Statement by Aurore Lalucq, Chair of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs on today's informal exchanges of views with candidates for ECB Vice-President.
"On 14th January, the Members of the Economic and Monetary Affairs committee held informal exchanges of views with the six candidates for the position as the next ECB Vice-President.
The committee's Coordinators, representing the majority of the committee's composition, supported Mārtiņš Kazāks and Mário Centeno as the preferred candidates for this position.
I informed the President of the Eurogroup, Kyriakos Pierrakákis, and the ECOFIN President and Minister of Finance of Cyprus, Makis Keravnos accordingly."
