Parliamentary scrutiny of Europol: 15th JPSG meeting in Brussels
On Tuesday, MEPs and national parliamentarians will meet with Europol’s leadership and other stakeholders to discuss the agency’s past activities and steer its future planning.

The Europol Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group meeting will be co-chaired by Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Chair Mr. Javier Zarzalejos and Committee Chairs of the Hungarian National Assembly Mr. Lajos Kósa (Committee on Defence and Law Enforcement) and Mr. Imre Vejkey (Committee on Justice).
In the meeting, MEPs and national parliamentarians will discuss Europol’s activities in 2024 and its Draft Multiannual Programming Document 2025-2027 with Europol Executive Director Ms. Catherine De Bolle and the Chair of its Management Board Mr. Peter De Buysscher.
They will also discuss data protection, fundamental rights, the impact of the war in Ukraine, irregular migration, and the fight against cybercrime, including artificial intelligence, in scrutiny sessions.

Based on Article 51 of the Europol Regulation, the Joint Parliamentary Scrutiny Group (JPSG) on Europol ensures Europol’s accountability and transparency through joint scrutiny by national Parliaments and the European Parliament.
