North Macedonia: Common strategic goal, no matter who wins elections on 8 May
Political actors of North Macedonia commit to work towards the strategic goal of EU membership across the political divide at the Jean Monet Dialogue last weekend.
Ahead of the next parliamentary and presidential elections in North Macedonia and following the adoption of a new set of Rules of Procedure by the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, Sobranie, the 4th Jean Monnet Dialogue took place from 7 to 9 December 2023 in the Jean Monnet House in Bazoches-sur-Guyonne, France.
The entire Sobranie leadership engaged in the Dialogue, including coordinators of the parliamentary groups and parliamentary parties' representatives. In the joint Conclusions the participants recognise the consensus of all the political actors present at the Jean Monnet Dialogue regarding EU membership as North Macedonia's strategic goal. The dialogue process is facilitated by the Sobranie President Talat XHAFERI together with MEPs Marion WALSMANN (EPP, DE), Andreas SCHIEDER (S&D, AT) and Ilhan KYUCHYUK (Renew, BG).
