EP President & MFF co-rapporteurs to hold a press conference on Tuesday at 14:00 regarding the outcome of the plenary vote on Parliament's stance on the EU's long-term budget revision.

On 20 June 2023, the Commission presented a proposal for a revision of the EU's long-term budget, aiming to promptly address shortcomings and extend additional financial support to Ukraine. Overall, the Committee on Budgets supports the revision in its interim report, awaiting the formal request from the Council, which has yet to agree its position, for consent to the revision. However, members of the Committee on Budgets suggests that an extra €10 billion, atop the €65.8 billion proposed by the Commission, is necessary to adequately tackle current and future challenges. MEPs emphasize the urgency of adopting the revision to ensure its implementation in the 2024 budgetary procedure. The plenary vote is scheduled for Tuesday, 3 October, 12:00. More info here
