1,640 new coronavirus cases registered in Bulgaria; six people passed away

1,640 coronavirus cases were registered in the past day in Bulgaria out of 6,768 tests, according to official data. 24% of the tests were positive. 62% of the newly infected are non-vaccinated citizens.
Most of the new cases are in Sofia - 440, followed by Varna - 188, and Plovdiv - 155. There are 856 patients in hospital as 41 of them are in intensive care. New hospital admissions reached 130 as 75% of the newly infected were non-vaccinated citizens. Six people died as 67% of them were not immunized, while 661 recovered. Active cases reached 16,399.
Yesterday, 3,781 doses of coronavirus vaccines were administered. There are 2,063,625 people with completed immunization. 27,116 of them have had a booster dose.
