Astronomical spring begins at 17.33 pm on March 20. This day marks the spring equinox, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology announced. Days are getting longer and nights are getting shorter.
In the Northern Hemisphere the vernal equinox falls about March 20 or 21, as the Sun crosses the celestial equator going north.
In the Southern Hemisphere, the equinox occurs on September 22 or 23 when the Sun moves south across the celestial equator.
In the Northern Hemisphere, the spring ends with the summer solstice around June 21. In the Southern Hemisphere, the spring ends around December 21.
