Bulgaria’s Johnny Penkov has passed away

Renowned Bulgarian actor and sound engineer Johnny Penkov passed away at the age of 87, writer Ina Valchanova has reported.

Johnny was born as Georgi on November 27, 1933 in Sofia, in the family of artist Ivan Penkov. In 1966 he graduated in radio engineering. He specialized in electro-acoustics in France and started working as a sound engineer.

Penkov's inimitable voice and style of expression were his trademark and he played a number of memorable supporting roles in Bulgarian films, series and television programs.
