Covid-19 in Bulgaria: 545 Newly Infected, 27 Fatalities

In the last 24 hours, 27 patients died from Covid-19 complications. Since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of fatalities is now 16,800, show the data from the Single Information Portal.

The newly infected were 545 after 5,733 tests. Nearly 10% of the tests are positive.

The active cases as of May 7 were 46,083. There are 6,138 patients in hospitals. Of those, 587 are in intensive care wards.

In total there are 408,372 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Bulgaria since the coronavirus outbreak in Bulgaria in March 2020.

The most new cases are in Sofia city - 92, Burgas - 86 and Varna - 50 infected.

Case count update by regions: Blagoevgrad - 21, Veliko Tarnovo - 14, Vidin - 11, Vratsa - 11, Gabrovo - 10, Dobrich - 15, Kardzhali - 9, Kyustendil - 3, Lovech - 7, Montana - 9, Pazardzhik - 26, Pernik - 12, Pleven - 7, Plovdiv - 47, Razgrad - 9, Ruse - 11, Silistra - 8, Sliven - 17, Smolyan - 5, Sofia - 27, Stara Zagora - 10, Targovishte - 11, Haskovo - 8, Shumen - 2, Yambol - 2.

In 24 hours, 594 people are documented as cured. There are 345,489 Bulgarians who have had the infection.

A total of 7 130 vaccines have been given in the last 24 hours and 884,254since the campaign started on 27 December 2020.
