Bulgaria: Anti-Covid Measures Lifted, Indoor Restaurants Open, Children Return to School

As of today, the dining facilities and entertainment venues are allowed to welcome their customers in their indoor areas at a capacity of 50% and opening hours until 11:00 p.m. Large stores also resume work, but with a limit on the number of customers.

Cultural and entertainment events are allowed at a capacity of 30% and observance of distance. On Thursdays, shopping malls, gaming venues and casinos start working, and from April 29 - night bars and discos.

As of today, students from 1st to 4th grade return to school. The same applies to three grades of senior students who will attend classes on a rotation principle - today the 7th, 8thand 10th grade resume in-person learning.

From 26April, 5th, 9thand 12th grades will return to classes, if the situation allows. For twelfth-graders, this is imperative, since for them the school year ends in mid-May.

Sixth and 11th grades are due to be back to in-person learning on May 17.

According to Minister of Education Krasimir Valchev, it is reasonable to return to classes up to 40% of the students from March 22.

For 12 weeks, six rotations are envisioned, as 7th and 12th grades have priority.

Individual exams, practical classes are restored. Children with special educational needs will also return to schools.
