“Elect her” – supporting women's political participation

The committees on Constitutional Affairs and on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality will hold a joint hearing on Tuesday to discuss ways to support women's participation in politics.

 

Following introductory remarks by Robert Biedroń, Chair of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality and Charles Goerens, Vice-Chair of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, MEPs will hear from:

 

Silvana Koch-Mehrin (President and founder of the Women Political Leaders network, Belgium);

Costanza Hermanin (Professor at the European University Institute, Italy);

Johanna Nejedlová (Ambassador of the Circle a Woman initiative, Czechia);

Meryl Kenny (Professor of Gender and Politics, University of Edinburgh, UK); and

Michelle Ryan (Professor and Director of the Global Institute for Women's Leadership, Australia).

 

Members will then have the chance to discuss with the experts.

Where: European Parliament in Brussels, ANTALL building, room JAN 6Q2, with remote participation.
